CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS IS INACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

In your news this week you describe the opening of Mayor Peters' reelection campaign. Commenting on her campaign headquarters at 884 Main Street in Belford, Mrs. Peters stated, "This central location is a perfect complement to our ongoing campaign effort." Apparently she doesn't care about reaching older or disabled voters.

The headquarters is located in the same strip as last year's Republican headquarters. It is not accessible to people with disabilities. (Check out the high curbs, curb ramps patched with uneven tar and blocked by cars, due to improper striping, and the inaccessible parking spot.)

In a perfect example of the current administration's lack of responsiveness, nothing has been corrected there, in spite of my repeated mail and phone contacts for over a year to the previous mayor, Mr. Czech, owner Mr. Compton, and Bill Farrell, town engineer. Nothing has been corrected, but the Republicans chose this inaccessible location, once again.
